Road Named after Dame Patience Jonathan

A road constructed by the Defence Police Officers Wives Association, DEPOWA has been named after wife of the President, Dame Patience Jonathan.
The road which links the DEPOWA office and the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Barracks in Abuja was constructed for use by the members of the association, the Barracks community and other road users.
At the commissioning on Thursday, the First Lady Dame Jonathan said that private sector organizations’ cooperation was central to achieving the aims of the Transformation Agenda.
She added that the construction of the road by DEPOWA proves that women are capable of executing projects that are critical and beneficial to the well being of the nation.
Dame Jonathan commended the association for encouraging members to promote the goals and objectives of the association, to raise the standard of living in the barracks and encourage cooperation among security agencies in Nigeria.
Wife of the Chief of Defence Staff and President of DEPOWA, Apolonla Petinrin said the road was full of potholes which made movement difficult. She noted that the construction was done with assistance from immediate constituencies- armed forces and the police.
