Investigations
into the death of a 16-year-old boy, Seubow, who was allegedly killed
by her foster mother, Olayemi Ayangbe, popularly called Iya Anu, has
shown that she and her husband, Timothy, were culpable. (if you missed the previous story, read it HERE)
According to Ngozi Braide,The Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State
Police Command, “The incident was reported at Isheri Oshun
Police Division on Sunday evening and the DPO personally quizzed the
couple. They both confessed to beating the boy to death".
“Olayemi started the beating while Timothy later joined her in battering the boy up till the time the boy gave up the ghost, Timothy admitted he joined in battering the boy
because of his habit of stealing. He said he had continuously soiled his
name within the neighbourhood as a result of the development.”
Braide confirmed that the police had in time past quizzed Olayemi for battering the boy.
She said, “The deceased is Timothy’s nephew, his father is late but his mother who
stays in the Badagry area of the state has been informed about the
incident and will be meeting with the police today (Wednesday).
“The couple are still in police custody and
investigations are ongoing. The case will be transferred to the state
Criminal Investigation Department on Wednesday.”
